Good stuff Salgoud. I actually got a little hope that the COC can make it after reading those articles, (except #2, couldn't get to it from his site or yours not sure why). Anyway, when he talked about Isaac and the COC needing to sacrafice like that I thought that's the thing. God could have done all this so that it would bring it to a point of having to give it all up again. Still, a hard thing to do individually, extremely difficult to do as a group. Here's a quote from what he said that I'm thinking about...
"Like Abraham, we must be willing to put our Isaac on the altar. We must embrace the paradox of letting go of our past in order to secure our future. Only when we are willing to let go of our heritage for the sake of God's mission, are we ready to set on foot on the mission field just outside our front door."
