With a hit tip to Dave Barry, I introduce a new category, Good Band Names. EDIT 05-23-2006: Never thought of any more good band names, so no need for a category. My appologies to you folks who find your way here looking for inspiration (It's one of the top search terms for folks arriving here). Feel free to use the name below, just leave a comment if you do.
Todays entry is:
Fermented Skittle Juice
OK, here's the story behind that.
I heard an exclamation of "What is this, that's nasty!" from my wife. She comes over to the sink with a bottle of pinkish-orange water.
I asked what it was and She replied, "It's water with a Skittle or something in it that's mostly dissolved."
I replied, "What?"
"Fermented Skittle Juice."
"Great name for a rock band.", I replied.
For the record, Emily informs me it was a Sweet Tart, not a Skittles.
Fermented Sweet Tart Juice doesn't have the same ring to it though. :-)
A coworker and I used to joke about a Scottish Spinal Tap type speed metal band with the name of "Boody Axe Bagpipes."
Great name for a Jazz Band:
i have always liked the idea of The Suede Gnats.
I picture them as a smoky-bar upright-bass jazz trio.
A former roommate always wanted two band names:
Stevedave
Friends of Clyde
My favorite actual Band Name is
*.fat (pronounced star-dot-fat)
On a bit of a tangent, a friend of mine wanted to go on morning radio and become "Payne and Suffering"
so whats actully a good name for a band.
