You Might Be a Redneck If ...

On her way home from Toledo Sunday evening, Maria noticed in several places along the interstate (I-75) people along the side of the road in lawn chairs. Yes, in lawn chairs, in their pick up beds, along the interstate, just outside the fence, like they had come to a parade or something. She says there may have been 100 people along a 20 or so mile stretch from Findlay north.

She and my sister, who was with her, couldn't figure out what was going on. They almost stopped to see what sort of sight was going to come down the freeway (they were all on the southbound side). She searched local news web pages, but came up with nothing. I think we've figured it out, though.

The weekend NASCAR race was at MIS in Michigan so all those NASCAR trucks would be headed south on Sunday to Charlotte, right down I-75.

"Hey Hon, grab a case o' Bud and the keys to the Silverado, we's goin' to to see Jr.'s truck go by on I-75!"

Hey! We have so little don't mock what we love.
;-}

Yup,
NASCAR can really muck things up a bit here in little ol' New Hampshire. When it comes here, you just hafta know not to go anywhere north of Manchester unless you know the really hidden back roads.

I don't understand the whole NASCAR fanaticism. But it exists. I can't deny that.

Sorry, Milly. I just can't get into it. ;-)

I don't understand it either. Matt Kennseth is from Wisconsin and does well so I keep up on that but most racing puts me to sleep. My parents really like it but they sleep through most of it and wake up in time for the end....usually!

Milly, that was you!

If I had known I would have had my wife stop and say hi. :-)

No, I was still in Oklahoma. Can you see someone wandering through lawn chair city looking for Milly. I'll bet you'd get fed and have plenty of beer.

I'm a fan, my man is a fan, and the kids are fans. We all like different drivers. I'm suppose to like the one my work sponsors, I don't. I like the Enunciator. You'll know who it is if you're a Jeff Foxworthy fan.

Ummm... How do you know they weren't lined up to get a look at Maria and your sister? Really, it was rude of them not to pull over and sign a few autographs, kiss a few babies, let them look under the hood of their car...

Just got back from Toledo for the weekend. Wouldn't you know, there was a NASCAR racea at MIS again this weekend, and there they all were again, lined up on I-75. One guy even had his Dale Jr. flag out, waving it around.

I saw them with my very own eyes this time. Milly, I looked for ya, but I didn't know what you were wearin'. :-)
